only me
I was there a few years ago. Primarily London, but we made a side trip to Cornwall to see first hand where my family came from.
We had a great time, Cornwall is just beautiful, we were there in May so there were billions of flowers, OMG the rhododendrons!!!, and we missed the tourist season, had some of the beaches to ourselves. Can't wait to go back.
Did not get to a KH while we were there.

Perhaps Had a " Ghost " Experience the Last 6 weeks on a Job ? You tell me
by flipper ini've never been one to believe in " ghosts " .
i'm open to the possibility that there may exist something in the afterlife or spirit world- i just don't know what it is.
having been out of the witnesses over 6 years i had my fill of being a jehovah's witness and being told how " scared " i should be of satan or the demons.

Sure sounds like you might have encountered a friendly entity . I believe in ghosts of various kinds, perhaps you could do a little sleuthing and find out some of the people who were connected to the building? Might be interesting. Personally I would say a greeting to it when I entered the area where it seems to exist. Only polite if you think someone might be there. On the other hand, it may just be an electrical surge or something else that could be a mundane explanation.
I have had a few interesting ghostly encounters, I have my own theories about them, but I don't believe they are usually dangerous or malevolent. I think the Witness view of demons is very childish. I think demonic encounters are very rare and are not usually random occurances.

I had to hurt my kids this weekend... it sucks
by Aussie Oz ini have been in a world of pain this weekend.. some of you know the ongoing battle i have had with my ex wife, an uber dub hypocrite, over seeing my kids more.
3 weeks ago i managed to secure an agreement from her that provided my 13 yr old daughter friday night to sunday afternoons and for my 16 yr old son to have friday night to sat afternoon with the option to extend it to sunday if he so desires.
this is each second weekend.. first due weekend visit she rearranged the days so that she was technically pre agreement start date.

You did the right thing. A very difficult situation but you have to draw the line somewhere. It's obvious the kids love you in spite of their mother.
My best advice is to stick to the high road- insist on following the agreement to the letter, be loving but firm . Do not attack their mother , you don't have to- she is doing that herself. The kids will see the difference and appreciate it in time.
It also wouldn't hurt to plan some really good Sunday surprises for them occasionally. Keep it as fun and light hearted as you can manage.

Validity of JW Baptism
by maputo95 inplease could someone tell me what is said in a jw baptism?
i was told that jw baptisms are invalid because they do not baptise in the "name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit.
because of this invalid baptism a catholic cannot marry a jw with church approval, i think.

I could be wrong, but doesn't the person doing the actual dunking say'"In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit." ?
I think I remember them doing that, but it's been a long time since I paid attention at a baptism.

Do you believe in reincarnation?
by TastingFreedom inreincarnation, literally "to be made flesh again", is the belief that the soul, after death of the body, comes back to earth in another body.
according to one belief, a new personality is developed during each life in the physical world, but the soul remains constant throughout the successive lives.[1].
belief in reincarnation has ancient roots.

ready or not-
I believe in reincarnation and also believe that we "travel" with some of the same people through different lifetimes.
I also believe that after people die they can choose to stay and help their loved ones for a while before they enter a rest phase and eventual reincarnation.
My son in law was born in the same place in Cornwall that my family lived for generations. On his many visits to his family, he has found three different gravestones with his and my daughter's names on them. Going back centuries. The latest was in the early 1900s, he found a wedding picture of the couple and they are almost identical to my SIL and daughter.
I think the more lives we travel through, the more awareness we have of past lives and how we connect with the people around us.
My SIL is a very old soul indeed.
One more point- most people who believe in reincarnation do not believe they were famous, royalty, or wealthy in their former lives. It seems that the more difficult, painful past experiences are the ones more readily recalled.

Hypnotic Language Patterning
by Simon Morley ini have not attended any meetings for three months but recently i was struck by a strange recollection of something common to most meetings i attended.
at every meeting, regardess of the time of day, frame of mind, secular workload, etc, i would feel i was being lulled into a numbing sleep.
it was not that the material was boring to me (i have attended many boring secular conferences and never experienced the strange effect that a meeting had on me).
